General / Mass Sightings

The number of documented general sightings in the modern age numbers approximately 120,000, of which 20,000 have been described as landings. Numerous surveys and opinions polls conducted over the last 50 years consistently report that between 5%-10% of the US population has seen what they consider to be a UFO. According to the United Nations, since 1947, approximately 150 million people have been witnesses to UFO sightings throughout the world

 I was driving back to college with my roommate. It was a clear, dark, starry night. We suddenly saw a long streak of light coming down from the top of the windshield. The sparks of light looked similar to holding a piece of metal to a grinding wheel.

 Silent craft gliding slowly overhead with alternating white lights that appeared to be situated at three corners of a triangle-shaped ship with one possible light in the middle of the craft that was brighter and able to rotate around. It was as dark, clear, calm evening and my husband and I were in our hot tub in our backyard. First thought to be an airplane, we noticed that it was moving extremely slow, at times not at all, and it made no sound and the lights were alternating and appeared to be searching for something.

 A odd object suddenly appeared in the sky above the forest near my house. I was suprised at how quietly it happened, that for a moment, I thought it had been there even longer. Normally people say these things go fast, which I noticed only briefly till it slowed above the forest, seeming to look for something.

 A very large triangular shaped object with lights on the bottom which moved very slowly and silently. It seemed to be flying very low in the sky. We followed it in a vehicle for about 5 miles until we ran out of a road to drive on. It was heading from east to west from Danbury, CT to Carmel, NY before we had to let it go.

November, 1969 - Bel Aire, Maryland,

 I stopped my car to observe a strange light in the night sky that seemed out of place. This star-like light cast a an arcing blueish green light down to the ground, almost in the shape of a banana. It made no noise, it got larger then smaller, then shot across the horizon at an umbelievable speed, only to stop suddenly, then it began to do its thing again.

The Varginha Incident (Brazil)   
 In 1996 in Varginha, Brazil, during the course of several weeks at least two and perhaps as many as six alien creatures were captured or killed and turned over to American authorities, and a UFO may have crashed. Eyewitnesses described the creatures as humanoid and 3 to 4 feet tall.  The color video footage, which lasts for a total of two minutes and fifty-five seconds, was apparently smuggled out of the secret Groom Lake "Area 51" facility in Nevada by a man referring to himself as "Victor". The video film depicts a "Grey" alien being interrogated at the government facility.  On 14th September, 1994, a UFO streaked across the sky over Southern Africa. Two days later, something landed in a schoolyard in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, with three or four things beside it, according to journalist Cynthia Hind. This was witnessed by 62 schoolchildren, who had little or no exposure to TV or popular press accounts of UFOs.  The story of the Voronezh aliens recounts the adventures of several young children who claimed to have seen a three-eyed alien with a robot escort. The alien was said to be about nine foot tall. The craft, according to eye witness testimony, landed on the outskirts of the city. Forester encounters mine-like entities in Scotland (the Dechmont Woods Encounter)   
 Robert Taylor, a forester from West Lothian, Scotland, encountered a strange object and equally strange smaller objects or "entities". The rounded larger object, 20 feet in diameter, hovered above the ground. Then, two small objects, which were round but had appendages, "rushed" toward him. These objects each attached itself to one (each) of his trouser legs and tugged him towards the larger object, at which time Taylor lost consciousness.  The four witnesses were hunting in the early morning hours near the Guadiamar River, when they encountered a landed object with a humanoid being standing next to it. The UFO looked like a large earthen jar, upside down, with a red light on top. The being seemed strong and tall (some 2 meters or taller), and had on a dark-colored helmet and silvery body suit.  Johnny Sands, a country-western singer living in Las Vegas, saw a 60-foot craft at about 1000 feet altitude, shaped like the Goodyear blimp, with portholes around the circumference. The object appeared to land, and Sands then saw two figures approaching. Then, he "froze" -- he wanted to move, but he couldn't.  Young Japanese schoolchildren watched a UFO touched down on February 23, 1975. The landing took place near Kofu City, Yamanshi Prefecture, Japan. An occupant allegedly emerged and touched one child on the shoulder, temporarily paralyzing him. The occupant then walked around the craft and reboarded.  Santiago Pulido Romero, 46, was going to his father's farm when he saw an object flying at low level. It was "round on the bottom and with a sort of cone-shaped tower on top."  Elizabeth C was driving along the South Coast of NSW with four other people, when the group encountered a UFO which began to travel alongside the car. The object was large, disc-shaped, and there appeared to be a distinct 'searchlight' beam effect that rotated around its bottom. At least one of the witnesses was certain that figures could be seen in the windows of the object.  This is a single witness sighting, and yet it has become the best case coming from Uruguay due to the in-depth investigation done by the members of C.I.O.V.I. research group. The witness, Corporal Juan Fuentes saw a landed craft with three occupants at close range for time of about one minute. He attempted to shoot at the occupants but was stopped from doing so.  Walking through a large, open field, a boy with his dog observed a glowing "thing" over a pond located in the open field. The object moved towards the youth, finally stopping near the youth, and slowly settled to the ground. After the craft landed, a door opened straight down toward him and a "man" walked out.  This incident, which took place in broad daylight, is notable because it was certainly observed by, at least eight witnesses. A great metallic disc came down on the surface of the South Atlantic Ocean. The disc remained on the surface of the water for half an hour, and two crewmen were seen inside it.  Mr. Luce Fontaine, age 31, a farmer on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, was picking some grass for his rabbits when he saw an object 5 meters in diameter, standing on a "glass foot" like a goblet. It was only 25 meters away. It was dark blue and through the window could be seen two small individuals, only 3 feet tall, dressed from head to foot in bulky coveralls, something like the Michelin "tire man." The details of these secret files were first offered to the general public on 9-13-98 as part of a TNT special titled "The Secret UFO Files of the KGB."  Florentine tailor Mario Zuccala, who was walking home through a wood, watched as an object like an inverted bowl passed overhead and came close to the ground.
